His points:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Loyalty within Trump\u2019s circle is more important than loyalty to country.\n<li> The only information that matters is what comes from Trump\u2019s circle.\n<li> The only standard of right and wrong is what Trump thinks.\n<li> Trump\u2019s secrets are as sacred as the country\u2019s secrets.\n<\/ol>\n<p>This is autocracy, not democracy. Tribal loyalty, not adherence to the constitution, the law, reality.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nOn every principle\u2014loyalty, secrecy, truth, right and wrong\u2014Trump\u2019s circle acknowledges only one standard and one master: Trump. That\u2019s why the catastrophe of this administration won\u2019t end with Flynn\u2019s departure, or even with an investigation of Trump\u2019s ties to Russia. It will end only when Trump is impeached and convicted.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\\\\<\/p>\n<p>Related is a piece on one of the NPR\/PRI radio shows I listen to most days, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wbur.org\/hereandnow\/2017\/02\/15\/how-propaganda-works-fake-news\">talk with Yale University professor Jason Stanley<\/a>, author of a book called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/How-Propaganda-Works-Jason-Stanley\/dp\/0691164428\/\"><b>How Propaganda Works<\/b><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>He quotes <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hannah_Arendt\">Hannah Arendt<\/a> (author of <b>The Origins of Totalitarianism<\/b>):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nWhat convinces masses are not facts, and not even invented facts. But rather, open defiance. The movement is, the leader speaks, and you&#8217;re a follower if you repeat what the leader says. And that&#8217;s attractive.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This goes back to Bush&#8217;s &#8220;we&#8217;re not a reality based administration.&#8221; Karl Rove: &#8220;We&#8217;re an empire now, we create our own reality.&#8221; Always rooted in conservative, Republican administrations.
